Puget Sound Watertype Assessment

The Wild Fish Conservancy (formerly Washington Trout) recently hired Umbrella Consulting to assist them with creating a new interactive mapping interface.

The map allows the public to quickly access detailed stream watertyping data, and associated photos for thousands of locations in the South Puget Sound.  The interface allows Wild Fish Conservancy staff can upload new data at any time to ensure that the latest data is always available.

The map uses OpenLayers, Google Maps, and TileCache to serve up the map imagery, which is rendered with Mapserver.  Photos are stored on Flickr, and queries are made to a PostGIS database.
